Anyone Hungry?

Ideas, suggestions and thoughts on my favorite topic.

About May 6, 2008

I live in Sanford, NC with my husband Ross, son Madden and our pets Sully and Luna, and Hazel.  I love to spend time with friends and family, be outside, be with children and read.  Like my Mom, one of my favorite hobbies has always been cooking.  Now it is even more fun since Ross and I cook together.  It is one of our favorite pastimes, and we have discovered some great recipes (and some not so great, too).  My sister Kara, who I lived with for my first 18 years of life and then again for a few years recently, is a vegetarian.  I like to seek out lots of good veggie recipes to treat her.  Ross’ sister Lara is also a vegetarian so we have double the reason to search for healthier, vegetarian friendly meals.  Now that I’m a Mom, I’ve had a lot of fun doing what I never thought I would do – making all of Madden’s baby food.  Each time I make something that tastes really good, I have a burning desire to share the recipe with others.  I thought this would be a great way to get some tasty ideas out there for everyone to enjoy!

Hi, Lindsay — welcome to the Sanford Blogosphere!!! I saw your comment on Emily’s post about your new blog – if you post non-tomato recipes for her, please keep in mind some without cheese for me (I’m allergic to cheese and it’s hard to find people who don’t think EVERYTHING is better with cheese!)! ha-ha! Looking forward to trying some of your recipes and checking out your blog!

Hi Tiptons!! Hope you enjoyed the honeymoon and are now enjoying newlywed home life.
We loved being there to celebrate with all your friends and family… so, I wanted to share a vegetarian favorite of mine that perhaps you can use when hosting your vegetarian loved ones. =)
Look up the cookbook by Bobbie Hinman, “The Meatless Gourmet: Favorite Recipes from Around the World”. Some of mine & Chris’ FAVORITE recipes are from that book… it’s food splattered pages and our pencil notes in the margins remind us our early years of cooking together.
And, it’s like travel eating without the big ticket expense!

Thank you Katharine! It meant so much to us to have you all travel all the way here for the wedding. It was so great to see you and Graylin couldn’t be any sweeter. Thank you for the recipe suggestion, I will have to go out and look for that one, sounds very good!

Keep in touch, I can’t wait to see you again. Love you!
